More than a half of Brazilian professionals are rational, organized and task-performance oriented. That is what is pointing out a survey carried out by Fellipelli human resources consulting held in the first half of 2010 with more than 1200 professionals from different areas. According to the study, 55% of respondents have as the greatest concern and focus of activity the execution and delivery of products and services demanded.
The survey is the result of applying the tool TMP (Team Management Profile), which identifies the preferred roles of individuals in the performance of job functions. As a whole, the tool identifies eight main roles: consulting, innovation, promotion, development, organization, production, inspection and maintenance (see definitions below).
The roles of production (23%) and organization (32%) account for 55% of respondents, revealing the predominance of oriented individuals to perform tasks. "It is important to consider that the competitiveness of the market tends to strongly influence corporate environments, working with a focus on results. Thus, the highest value are those with strong execution ability", says Ricardo Rabello, director of evaluation and diagnosis area at Fellipelli.
On the other hand, only 9% of the individuals turned out to be oriented to human issues and social impact of decisions - slice represented by the profiles of maintenance (2%) and consulting (3%). "This is also a reflection of the pressure for results and as a consequence of the lack of these professionals, important issues related to business or the identity of constant assessment and maintenance of systems and procedures can be left in the background," says Rabello.
According to his opinion, the secret to the success of high performance teams worldwide is the balance in the performance of all duties, in accordance with the challenges presented.
The job functions are evaluated as follows:
- Maintenance: defines, implements, communicates and reinforces the practice of: purpose, commitment, principles, vision, social responsibility, values and policies of the organization.
- Consulting: gathers information, evaluates, understands, open to new ideas, defines and asks the appropriate questions.
- Innovation: differs, evaluates opportunities, supports changes, innovates, challenges the "status quo", connects ideas with needs and needs with ideas.
- Promotion: influences, persuades, explains, impresses, identifies allies, internal and external sales and builds the image.
- Development: tests, analyzes information, converges the value, identifies, evaluates risks and defines resources.
- Organization: structures, plans, schedules, maps, establishes systems and processes and manages resources.
- Production: implements, operates, concludes, accomplishes, guarantees effectiveness and efficiency.
- Inspection: specifies, defines success indicators, conducts "feedback", checks, ensures quality, ensures fairness to efficiency standards and audits.
